Registration Time/Sound Check: 4:00 to 7:00 pm on May 12, 2023

Competition: Afternoon General Session of Area Convention on May 13, 2023

Place:  James Madison High School, San Antonio

Awards: 1st Place ……………….....… Plaque

               2nd thru 3rd Place………….Pennants

Eligibility: One team per district through an election process

Entry Fee:   $15.00 (Must register and pay through Judgingcard.com)

Rules:

1. Official dress does not have to be worn, but clothes should meet state tolerance (school type clothes)

2. Teams will have 30 minutes the day before the Area VII Convention for a sound check.  You are required to attend during your            assigned times.

3. There will be no practice or sound checks the day of the Area VII FFA Convention.

4. Contestants are responsible for bringing their own sound equipment.

5. One Area Talent Team winner will be selected by a plurality vote – 1 vote.

6. Each team will be allowed a maximum of eight minutes to perform.

7. All lyrics & music must be uploaded on judgingcard by midnight on May 5th (7 days prior to event) for  approval.  

     NO MUSIC MAY BE PLAYED WITHOUT THE APPROVAL OF THE TALENT CHAIRMAN.  
     The decision of the Talent Committee will be final.

8. THERE WILL BE NO REFERENCES TO THE FOLLOWING DURING THE TALENT PERFORMANCE – INFERENCE TO RACE,      COLOR, CREED, SEX OR ILLEGAL BEHAVIOR OF MINORS.  NO VULGAR LANGUAGE, TERMINOLOGY OR MOVEMENTS WILL BE ALLOWED.

9. No suggestive actions by any talent team or team members will be allowed.

10. Any violation of these rules may result in a one-year suspension of that chapter.
