Career Development Events

Area 7 State CDE Qualifying Events Locations:

Area 7 Fall CDE's - Land, Range, Homesite & Plant ID - October 15th (dependent on Covid-19)
Contest will be held on the Well Springs Ranch in Blanco (directions posted below). Registration is from 9:00 - 10:00 am.  Contests start at 10:00am.  Results will follow. The top 5 teams in Land, Range and Homesite will advance to the State CDE's at Tarleton on TBD.  There is NO STATE CONTEST for Range Plant Identification. (Map and Plant ID Rules posted below.)  For Land, Range and Homesite - follow state rules.  Area Plant ID rules are posted below.

Texas A&M University - April 17, 2021
The following Area 7 contest will take place on TAMU campus in order to qualify for the State CDE Contest:
* Livestock Judging
* Poultry Judging 
* Meats Judging
* Horse Judging
* Entomology
* Milk Quality

The following Area 7 contest will take place on the same day but at College Station ISD.
* Nursery Landscape
* Floriculture


Texas State University - 
This will be the hosting site for the Area Ag Mechanics contest in order to qualify for the State CDE Contest.

Palo Alto College - 
The following Area 7 contest will take place on the Palo Alto Campus in order to qualify for the State CDE Contest:
  * Veterinary Science

Sam Houston State University - 
This will be the hosting site for the Area 7 Farm Business Management and Ag Sales CDE contest in order to qualify for the State CDE Contest. 

Tarleton State University - 
The following Area 7 contest will take place on the TSU Campus in order to qualify for the State CDE Contest: * Dairy Cattle
 
Gillespie County Fairgrounds - 
The Area 7 Wool CDE contest will be hosted at this location in order to qualify for the State CDE Contest.  The contest will start at 1:00 p.m. and officials will placed on the contest by Texas Tech University.



The events will be computer graded, and you are asked to furnish the appropriate scan sheet for your students participating in this event. The sheet is available from the www.judgingcard.com website. 

  


RULES:

            State rules will be followed as closely as possible. A team consists of three or four members. Only the top three scores will be counted. ALL COACHES MUST STAY AWAY FROM EVENT SITE PRIOR TO AND DURING THE EVENT. Coaches may go through the event after judging has been completed. Use of electronic devices or other unauthorized materials may result in contestant disqualification. All participants will need to have a current Tarleton Area Lapel card prominently displayed or they will NOT be allowed to participate.


RESULTS:
Results will be announced in Klegberg Building at 2:15pm.

Complete results will be posted to the www.judgingcard.comcard.com website at the conclusion of the Awards Program.
